General Minister and President Sharon Watkins is asking Disciples to give their prayerful support to health care reform that is now being debated in Congress. In a letter written to the Church, Watkins describes Jesus' ministry as a witness to abundant life that includes physical, mental and spiritual wellness.

Health care reform will help those in the faith community live out Jesus' vision, her letter states, noting that our country is close to the moment when decent, affordable health care is accessible for everyone.
