CORRECTION

Please make the following change to the third paragraph of the September 16 DNS release 98c-58, "Retired evangelism executive dies." The paragraph should read as follows (corrected information is in boldface):

He is founding pastor of Fifth Christian Church, Cleveland, and later served as pastor of Faith United Christian Church, Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) -- Retired evangelism executive, the Rev. William W. Hannah, 71, died Sept. 13 in Indianapolis.Dr. Hannah served as executive secretary, department of evangelism and membership, Homeland Ministries, from 1976- 1982. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) pastor also served as an associate general minister and was administrative secretary of the National Convocation.

In the past few years, Mr. Hannah was pastor of University Community Christian Church at Martin University, Indianapolis, where he started the Urban Ministry Program.

He is founding pastor of Fifth Christian Church, Cleveland, and later served as pastor of Faith United Christian Church, Indianapolis.

At its August meeting this year, the National Convocation honored Mr. Hannah with the Liberation Award, and noted his contributions as an "effective black liberation advocate" in the denomination.

A wake for Mr. Hannah is set for Sept. 17, 5 - 8 p.m., at Stuart Mortuary, Indianapolis, with services the following day. The "Homegoing Service" will be at 1 p.m. at University Community Christian Church.

Survivors include Mr. Hannah's wife, Sherin Keys Hannah, along with children, William L. Hannah, Fredrick Keys, Helen Mack, Reatha Gales, Shereefah Miles. Other survivors include mother, Alma Eubanks Hembrick, five brothers, three sisters and six grandchildren.
