INDIANAPOLIS (DNS) -- The Rev. Ryan D. Hazen, general manager for Christian Church Services, has been named as a part-time special consultant for the Board of Church Extension of Disciples of Christ. "Ryan Hazen brings a solid background of experience into this special assignment, including an internship with us while he was a seminary student," said the Rev. James L. Powell, president of Board of Church Extension. As a special consultant, Hazen will work with congregations as they plan and finance capital projects. He has already begun the BCE assignment, while continuing the Christian Church Service position. As general manager of CCS, Hazen works closely with the Indianapolis-based general units of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and coordinates the facility management of Disciples Center. Hazen organized the move of 200 general unit employees from three sites into Disciples Center in downtown Indianapolis in 1995. The Kansas native holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, and Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis. He served for four years as associate minister of North Christian Church, Columbus, Indiana. In addition to the BCE internship, Hazen was a student minister at Geist Christian Church, Indianapolis, while in seminary. He chaired the building committee during the congregation's first building project. Currently, he is a member of North Christian Church, and serves as a Sunday school teacher. He is married to Ruth Weaver, an accountant for Arvin Industries, Columbus.
