Search begins for new president of Division of Overseas Ministries

INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 6, 2002 -- The board of the Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has begun the search for qualified candidates for the position of President. The President serves as the executive of this general unit and also as the co-executive of Global Ministries, the common witness and work of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ.

The search committee is being chaired by Chad Cline, Fort Worth, Texas, current vice chair of the board. Other members of the committee include: Minelly Ayala-Goveo, Kissimmee, Fla.; Eleaszar Fernandez, New Brighton, Minn., UCC representative; Holly McKissick, Kansas City, Mo.; Tommy Potter, Midland, Texas; Herman Williams, Memphis, Tenn.; and ex-officio members Maria Perez, Omaha, Neb., DOM board chair; and Rodney Franklin, Birmingham, Ala., chair of UCC's Wider Church Ministries and Common Global Ministries Board.

The search committee will receive letters of nomination and applications from interested candidates. In addition, the committee will also be seeking out qualified candidates. Letters and inquiries should be addressed to the following:
