GRUBBS NAMED REGIONAL MINISTER FOR THE CAPITAL AREA

INDIANAPOLIS, November 15, 2002 -- Lari R. Grubbs has been named regional minister for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - Capital Area.

Since 1995, Grubbs has been the Area Minister for the Southeast Gateway Area of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Mid-America, Inc., which serves 43 congregations in Illinois and Missouri. In addition to pastoral and congregational support, Grubbs was responsible for the Orchard Crest, a 240- acre campground and spiritual retreat center. Before joining the Mid-America staff, Grubbs held pastorates in Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia and Iowa.

Retreats and workshops on evangelism training, long range planning, development of core values, urban sprawl and smart growth, spirituality, church history, Disciples polity, and theology are all part of Grubbs repertoire.

Grubbs will begin his new position January 1, 2003.

Grubbs has a B.A. from Central Methodist College (Fayette, Mo.) and an M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary (Indianapolis.) He also serves as adjunct faculty at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

The St. Louis native has two adult children and one grandchild.
