Thanksgiving Offering to be received this weekend
The Thanksgiving Special Offering themed "Faces of the Future," will be
received this weekend, November 16 and 23, 2003. Please remember to give generously to this important offering that supports leader development through colleges, universities and theological institutions related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Leadership is essential if we are to become a faithful and growing church, for which the Disciples 2020 Vision calls.

General Assembly newspaper: it's in the mail!
A newspaper summarizing the events of the 2003 General Assembly is currently
being mailed. Newspapers are being mailed out first class to those who placed
orders. A copy is also being sent bulk rate to all regional offices and to
each Disciples congregation. VHS and DVD highlights are in the duplication
process and will be sent out shortly. Please contact Communication Ministries with

CCU elects new officers, announces ecumenical dialogue and calls for strategic planning
The Executive Committee of the Council on Christian Unity recently met and
approved an official dialogue between the Disciples of Christ and the
Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, called for strategic planning around the
ecumenical witness of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and elected new

Racial justice, reconciliation and local/regional initiatives are focus of CUIC meeting
In a recent meeting of the Coordinating Council of Churches
Uniting in Christ, Beatrice Wood, director, opened stating, "Churches Uniting
in Christ is finding momentum in relation to solid work that has been done
this past year in the three primary areas of its life: local/regional
initiatives, racial justice, and the reconciliation of ministries." For the complete
