Churches Uniting in Christ

Latest News from CUIC - April 2009

General Overview of CUIC:

Churches Uniting in Christ is the result of forty years of discussion and work of the Consultation on Church Union. Begun in 1962, the Consultation on Church Union had as its goal a structural union of churches. Years of discussion lead to the realization that there would not be an organizational merger based on uniformity of structure, belief and practice, but rather a living relationship focusing on a union of purpose, by which each denomination would maintain its own individual identity and look for ways to do ministry and mission with the other participating denominations.

Below are resources to help you and your congregation understand and live out Churches Uniting in Christ.

The April/July 2002 combined issue of Mid-Stream is a special issue highlighting Churches Uniting in Christ. It is also a wonderful resource as it contains the sermons and addresses given at the inauguration and thumbnail sketches of each of the participating denominations. You can order it from us for $5 a copy.
