A day of packing, reflecting, last trip into town to shop for music CD's, final good bye's, and a last nail-biting, stomach-churning trip to the airport in rush hour traffic and rain.
At the airport we have our only difficult moments of the trip when our hosts have to leave us at security and boarding. The anxious rush and press of people, the difficulty with language, lets us know how carefully our hosts have kept us in that circle of prayer and caring that began the first night in Kinshasa.
We feel so blessed in the partnership we share with the Disciples of Congo. As Rick Lowery passes the last bag check before boarding the plane, the official says to him, "You look like you have the Holy Spirit in you."
Indeed.
