ALL-ASSEMBLY CONCERT AND CLOSING COMMUNION - Worship Order (PDF)
2 p.m. - 5p.m.
(Exhibit Halls A, B, & C)

Disciples will close the 2009 General Assembly in the company of the other two streams of the Stone-Campbell movement: the Churches of Christ and the Christian Churches – as well as guests from across the Central Indiana area. Join in an experience of communion that honors this shared heritage as we celebrate together the 200th Anniversary of Thomas Campbell’s signing of the Declaration and Address.

Headlining the Concert portions of the event will be accomplished gospel music artists: Donald Lawrence, Indiana’s own folk phenomenon, Carrie Newcomer and the world-renown Indianapolis Children’ Choir.

Donald Lawrence
Billboard magazine called Lawrence a “timeless tunesmith, lyricist and master of the mix.” With Lawrence as lead vocalist, “The Tri-City Singers” almost exclusively transformed the definition of the modern gospel choir. He’ll bring the Disciples All-Assembly Choir to the stage with him for its own transformation at the Indianapolis Concert.

Carrie NewcomerCarrie Newcomer
National award-winning folk artist, Newcomer made a place for herself in the hearts of Disciples women at the Disciples and UCC Women’s “Mix in ’06.” This performer combines her passion for music and justice to bring a gentle, yet intense voice to her art form. Prepare to be completely entertained and inspired.

Indianapolis Children's ChoirIndianapolis Children’s Choir
This chorus of thousands of youth from Central Indiana has traveled around the world as musical ambassadors to nearly every continent. Here in their hometown, they’ll make a special appearance for Disciples, along with our own Disciples Assembly Children’s Choir. Not to be missed.

Admission is free. A free-will offering will be received. Canned goods will also be received to support local food banks.
