Disciples will have an opportunity to do mission in the Indianapolis area before and during the 2009 General Assembly. Visit this page often for updates on mission work opportunities.
Pre-Assembly Mission Opportunity
6:00pm, Sunday, July 26th - 12:00pm, Wednesday, July 29th
Disciples of all ages will have a chance to work within the Indianapolis community alongside local churches and service agencies on various service projects, including:
- homeless shelters
- food banks
- A "Blitz Event"
- Community Clean Up
Cost: $60 per person - includes a place to sleep on the floor at a local church, showers, meals, insurance, t-shirt, work supplies.
General Assembly Mission Projects
Work projects in Indianapolis are being planned for Thursday, July 30, Friday, July 31, and Saturday, August 1, 8a.m. - 4p.m. The projects will include working with: Second Helpings, Volunteers of America, Wheelers Mission, a collaborative “blitz” event with Habitat for Humanity, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and the City of Indianapolis, and other community agencies and service centers.
