A symposium on preaching and stewardship featuring Dr. James Forbes, is set for June 12 – 14, 2012, at Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis. Beginning with worship and an address by Forbes at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, the following days include a workshop with him on how to introduce a culture of generosity into the messages given to congregations. Other resource lectures include the Rev. Dr. Lance Pape (Jesus and Money), the Rev. Dr. Carol Johnston (Wellsprings of Generosity), the Rev. Dr. Ronald Allen (remaining Cycle B lectionary texts) and Rev. Bruce Barkhauer (relationship between trust and generosity).
The closest and most affordable hotels for the event are Holiday Inn Express, Woodland Drive and the Hampton Inn Northwest. You are responsible for making your reservations and for the cost of your accommodations. Registration includes Tuesday evening reception, breakfast and lunch on Wednesday and breakfast on Thursday.
